About Me

I build systems that have to be right. Right now that means ShelfLabs, where as CTO I'm building ShelfGRC — risk and compliance, re-engineered for real businesses — and owning it end to end, from platform architecture to the AI that reads and classifies controls.

Most of my current work is agentic: multi-agent orchestration, retrieval that has to cite its sources, tool-use design, and the evaluation and guardrails that decide whether any of it is fit to deploy. I care less about what a model can do in a demo than what it does on the day it's wrong.

Underneath that is a research habit I haven't shaken: quantum algorithms for financial linear systems, quantum Monte Carlo for portfolio optimisation, reinforcement learning against live markets, CUDA-accelerated simulation. Some of it shipped, some of it stayed a paper. The interest is the same either way — computing something that was previously out of reach.

Off the clock, I follow FC Barcelona rather more closely than is strictly good for me.

Agentic AI Systems

Multi-agent orchestration, retrieval that cites its sources, and the evals and guardrails that decide whether a system is fit to deploy.

Quantum Computing

Hybrid classical-quantum work — HHL solvers, QAOA and VQE, quantum Monte Carlo — aimed at problems classical methods struggle to reach.

Product Engineering

Next.js, Postgres and Supabase, Stripe billing, and the release pipelines that get it into production without drama.

Quantitative Research

Reinforcement learning against live markets, derivatives pricing, and portfolio optimisation — backtested before it's believed.
